We've had our Toyota Harrier for 7 years and it's time for shaken again. We purchased it at the Toyota dealership and they've given us a 'free' inspection and tuneup every year. Its been good for the most part but last year they nailed us with a 8 man bill during one of our 'free' inspections. I don't know much about cars so unfortunately I just agreed and paid for the repairs. Our car isn't driven very much and has 49,000 km on it and we get regular maintenance every year. I'm finally starting to realize that these dealerships are just repairing things that don't really need to be repaired and charging us a premium. They also take care of our shaken and I think I paid like 14 man last time. I know white plates and mid size SUV's cost more but there's no way our low mileage, well taken care of car should cost us so much each time. I want to try user shaken this time but the car is under my wife's name and she doesn't want to come with me or not use Toyota for all our car services. Can I do the user shaken for the car if it's under her name? I don't mind bringing it in and trying it since it looks much cheaper and they'll tell me right on the spot what didn't pass and needs repairing. I'm sick of getting ripped off by these big dealerships and want to learn how to do this on my own. Thanks in advance for responding!
