Honeymoon Itinerary, 10 Days in Japan – Feedback Appreciated!

Hi All – Thank you in advance for any advice or help you can provide me!

My husband and I are planning a delayed honeymoon late March/early April for 10 days. We originally planned on joining a tour company, but after looking through the set itinerary and prices, I felt we would be better on our own.

I've included a sample of our plan while we are there. March 29-April 7th: Tentatively will leave Chicago Friday at 11am fly into Narita Saturday at 3pm. Then depart Osaka Itami Airport Monday April 7th at 2pm and get a connecting flight at Narita at 5pm until flying back to Chicago.

To give you some background, me (27F) and my husband (31M) absolutely love Japanese history and culture. I have tried to include a variety of meaningful sites to see. What are we missing? Will we be rushed? What should we fill with the extra time?

We are currently planning for 3 days in Tokyo, 2 in Kyoto, 2 in Hiroshima and stopping at Himeji and Kurashiki, and 2 in Osaka with a day trip to Nara. We will likely be able to travel with our luggage in all situations except leaving Kyoto to Hiroshima. If anyone has advice on Yamamoto Transport, please let me know!
