Food ID needed: these tasty wonton strip candies


I got this at a Japanese festival where families had homemade food stalls. I never got the name but they told me this was simple and traditional… I want to make it at home but I can’t find the name of it! It was a fried wonton wrapper type of dough that had been dipped in a hard sugar glaze. The glaze had a light savory flavor, definitely ginger but possibly very light amounts of sesame or soy. It had black sesame seeds sprinkled on top. I’d desperately like to eat this delicious snack again, if anyone could find me the name so I can find a recipe!
