Incoming Tokyo Jet here.
I’ve been placed at a school in the city close to Bunkyo City. It seems as though I’ll have to secure an apartment before getting to Japan since our BOE is only giving us accommodation for the duration of orientation (3 days).
I’ve been in contact with a rental estate agent and he asked me for my dealbreakers. I’m a bit stumped, I feel as though I don’t know Japan enough to answer this. For example: I know I want a 1LDK not more than an hours commute from my school with a western toilet for under 75K.
What should I look out for when apartment hunting? Are there any neighbourhoods I should avoid? Or maybe red flags I should look out for?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
