Getting Married and Sponsoring a Spouse

Hi everyone! My partner and I are deeply in love and considering marriage, though we're currently long distance. Neither of us are of Japanese descent, and currently I'm the one living in Japan.

I just had some questions about getting married here as two foreigners and about the process of sponsoring a dependent visa:

If I'm on a working visa, my understanding is that I can apply for them to live in Japan with me as a dependent. Is this correct? And would they be able to work here too?

If they come here on a tourist visa, are we able to get married and apply for a change to a dependent's visa within a 90 day timeframe? Or is it more realistic to expect that they leave the country again and only reenter once the dependents visa is approved?

Would proof of funds for sponsorship need to be provided? And if so, would a company contract/pay slip suffice or does the current bank balance hold greater weight? If so, how much balance would be best to have in order to get approval?

Any helpful links or personal anecdotes/experiences would be really helpful and much appreciated. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to share!
