Anyone with experiences going to Music Schools/Lessons for hobbyist?

I'm thinking about taking music lessons to learn jazz trumpet as a hobby.

From my research in Tokyo, there's seems to be mainly two types of lessons:

• one on one lessons

• group lessons

Can anyone here tell me their experiences attending music lessons?
