I was in kind of a popular local cafe/restaurant with a friend last night and we saw a large rat scurry by us.
We didn’t want to make a scene or scare away the other customers so we quietly told the worker as we paid so that they would be aware and maybe do something about it.
However the worker just looked uncomfortable and apologized but definitely already knew about it. It was really awkward and she didn’t thank us after paying or do the traditional japanese customer service, she just put our change on the tray silently and walked away.
I feel like that’s kind of a health hazard. I mean I don’t want to ruin someone’s business but it was kind of gross and I feel like they would have mentioned it if they were trying to fix the problem instead of the weird reaction she gave.
What would you do in this situation? Or has anyone else encountered something like this before?
