Hi, my wife and I are planning to be in Japan for 2.5 months this fall with baby who will be 9mos at the beginning of the trip.
I am torn about bringing a car seat. Would love to be able to use a travel stroller with the proper seat (rather than with the car seat clipped into it) since having only the travel stroller wiht the car seat attachment seems like it'd be uncomfortable for baby for such a long period of time. But I think it'll be excessive to have a full stroller and a car seat when we travel.
We'll be based in Fukuoka for six weeks, Tokyo for two weeks, rest of trip is unplanned, but we also want to be able to do some road trips around Kyushu while stationed in Fukuoka so having a car seat seems fairly essential.
Any ideas on how to pull all of this off?
