I’ve been working in Japan for the past two years on a five-year work visa, but I’ll be switching to full-time master’s studies this fall. My university said I can either keep my work visa or switch to a student visa.
Keeping my work visa sounds like a good idea since I’ll still have a year left on it after graduation, but I’m not sure how it might affect things like insurance, taxes, and pension. Also, would sticking with the work visa help me if I decide to apply for permanent residency later on?
I haven’t been able to find clear info online, so if anyone has experience with this or has any knowledge about it, I’d really appreciate any advice!
