Basically just moved to Japan 1 month ago on a working holiday visa and currently in Hokkaido but wanting to move to shizuoka. Cant find any sharehouses or short term rentals in the area besides Leopalace21 that charges minimum 70,000 yen for a shoebox room for 6 months. Long term apartments for 1-2 years arent something that i want to sign up for at the moment aswell due to working holiday visa. Does anyone know a popular company or agency that deals with sharehouses/social residences in Shizuoka area? or am i just going to have to face reality and pay that price for Leopalace21.

I don’t think this area has a large population to support share houses. I think the closest place is in Kanagawa by Oakhouse.

Have you tried searching for マンスリーマンション? Here’s the start page from Home’s https://monthly.homes.jp/shizuoka
If you can get some kind of a proof of income try UR. And even if you can’t there are a few exceptions you may be able to meet, try reading up on their website. It’s government run so as long as you can meet their minimum requirements, it’s going to be a lot less hassle than convincing some landlords to rent to a foreigner, let alone a shorter term one.
