We're coming for our 2nd visit to Japan – and first where we'll venture outside of Tokyo – December 25 – January 8. The current plan is to start the trip in Kyoto for a few days, but we're having a tough time deciding what to do in the Dec 31 – Jan 2 block. I could see two options:
- Stay in a larger city that will be slow, albeit have at least some options. I think Osaka could fit the bill.
- Travel to a resort or onsen and fully commit to being shut off from society.
If you had to travel in Japan during this time, what would you do?
