So I have a bank account with JP Post bank (Because that’s the bank my work helped me open an account with when I got here) but I’m having so many issues with it.
Firstly I got a cash card (which confused me because the concept of a card that only works on ATMs doesn’t exist in my home country) and that worked ok for a bit. Then they sent me a yucho debit card. Now neither my cash card or my debit card work at ATMs. I’ve tried several kinds ATMs and both cards just get spat back out.
The other issue I’m having is apparently there’s both a monthly and daily limit on my debit card?? On my yucho debit web page it says my remittance daily limit is 1 million yen which I definitely haven’t been spending.
Apparently I hit the monthly limit on my card which means I now cannot use my debit card for transactions OR to withdraw cash for the rest of the month so I’m a bit fucked now.
