I've got a small number of shares from a previous employment held still in the US based organization – ComputerShare. Now it's time to sell-up and pull the money back to Japan.
Has anyone done this before ? If so, what were you experiences ? I've read that when doing similar transfers some people have been hit with huge "Lifting" (Transfer charges made by intermediaries) – did that happen with you ?
I'm not a US Citizen so can't open a US based bank, but are there other ways to transfer the Cash back here, ways which would involve less involvement of 3rd parties taking a bite out of the principle being transferred ?
