Just got my all of my JLPT test prep books and realized that my kanji and grammar ones are newer (printed in color and clearly say 2022 in the front), while my vocav one is older (no color, says 2010). Is it a really bad idea to rely on a 2010 book? Should I just suck it up and try to find the most recent volume? The site I bought from didn’t indicate that they were different but I’m paranoid…. They’re 日本語総まとめN1 if that makes any difference.

While language does, in fact, evolve over time, since the JLPT doesn’t seem to account for truly modern slang, a book that’s only roughly one decade old will almost certainly be acceptable.
On the off chance I’m somehow wrong about this, there’s a really good reason why people insist learners should consume copious amounts of native material and mining vocabulary from those instead of doing apps and textbooks full time ever.
