First time in Japan – does my 2 week itinerary make sense?

Hi all! I will be travelling to Japan in November for two weeks with my SO. And we were looking for any tips/optimization tricks we could do on our trip.

Here is our itinerary:

Days 1-4 – Osaka

1st day – This is the day we arrive, we will have a pretty long flight sitting at around 20 hours so we arent thinking of doing much this day, that said, since our hotel is near dotonbori, we decided this day should be spent strolling around Dotonbori, Shinsaibashisuji, and Hozenji Yokocho.

2nd day – Starting the day early, we're planning to go visit Osaka Castle, Ride the Aqualiner, have lunch at Izakaya Toyo then go to Tsutenkaku tower, Shin Sekai, Shitennoji Temple and ending the day strolling around Nipponbashi Denden Town

3rd day – Kuromon Ichiba Market, Namba Yasaka, Umeda Sky Building, Kaiyukan Aquarium and the Tempozan Ferris Wheel.

4th day – This day is reserved for USJ.

Day 5 – Hiroshima

5th day – We are planning to leave Osaka as early as we can and to arrive in hiroshima at around 9 AM, so that we can see the peace memorial park and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum during the morning, then catch the ferry to Miyajima as late as 12:30 so we can spend the afternoon there. Coming back at dinner time to dine in Okonomimura.

Days 6 to 9 – Kyoto

6th day – Again, we're planning to leave Hiroshima as soon as we can, so we can visit Fushimi Inari and Tofuku-Ji Temple in Kyoto.

7th day – This day is reserved for Kyomizu-dera, Yasaka-jinja and Chion-in Temple.

8th day – On this day, we've got Arashiyama during the early morning, followed by Kinkaku-Ji and Daitoku-Ji during the afternoon/early evening.

9th day – Day trip to Nara Park

Day 10 – Hakone

10th day – On this day we'll go to Kyoto National Garden and maybe Nijo Castle, before going to Hakone, as we've booked a Ryokan for our 7th anniversary. We're planning for it to be our calmest day of the trip, hehe.

Days 11-16 – Tokyo

11th day – We're still debating whether we want to go to tokyo by shinkansen from Hakone, or if we'll ride the "regular" trains making stops in Odawara (to see the castle) and in Yokohama (to visit the Cup Noodle Museum and Yokohama Chinatown), so if you feel like its too much on this day, please let us know!

12th day – We're planning to go see tokyo in portions, starting this day with going to Shinjuku National Garden, then Meiji Jingu, maybe take a stroll in Yoyogi Park, then Go all the way to Harajuku through Takeshita Street. Ending this day exploring Shibuya.

13th day – This day is reserved for Tokyo DisneySea.

14th day – Tokyo Imperial Palace, then a stoll through Ginza, Akihabara and Zojo-ji Temple. On this day we are also planning to see Tokyo Tower and head to TeamLab Borderless near the end of the day.

15th day – This day will be our real last day in Tokyo, as such, we've planned to yet again get up early and head to Asakusa Shrine and all the surrounding views. With a visit to Tokyo Skytree near the end of morning. Early afternoon is reserved for TeamLab Planets and the rest of the afternoon/early evening will be spent in Tokyo Joypolis.

16th day – This day will be pretty much dedicated to just heading to the airport, as our flight home is quite early.

That's pretty much it, sorry if some days are missing some info, we still are exploring and searching for places to eat, mostly. If you got any suggestions regarding those, please let us know!

Also, our goal with this planning is to set a guideline for the trip, and we're completely fine if at the time of the trip we end up missing some of the places we had originally planned. This itinerary of ours is just supposed to be a guideline so we dont get overwhelmed with everything that Japan has to offer. This is a trip we've been dreaming of for a long time and we obviously want to make the most of it. Thank you and sorry for the long read!
