Suica in apple wallet

Hello, this is my first time going to japan (kansai area to be exact). At first I thought I should buy the kansai rail pass (5200 yen for 2 days, around 7000 yen for 3 days), but as I plan my itinerary, my calculation using Google Map train fare didn't go above 5000 yen for my 5 days trip around osaka kyoto and nara.

So now I want to use IC card from the apple wallet, I read some article saying that I can add my IC card amount using cash in every station or convenience store, but is this also correct for the first time setting up IC card in apple wallet?

Lets say I want to add Suica card, I choose suica in my apple wallet, and the display have 2 option, "Continue" and "Transfer existing card". When I choose continue, they will tell me to select amount that I want to add to my card, in this step, can I go to the station/ convenience store to add any amount that I select to suica using cash before setting up the card?

or do i need to use my debit/ credit card to add suica to my apple wallet for the first time, and only after that, I can use cash to add amount to my suica in any station or convenience store

also, is the train fare in google map accurate?

thank you, and sorry for my bad english
