This afternoon I walked past an elderly lady who was walking extremely slowly on a sidewalk in Tokyo. She looked like she was struggling. It was so humid and hot, and the heat was tiring me out. I'm decently healthy so I can only imagine how bad it is for people like her. I was afraid she would get dehydrated or something. I wanted to help but I wasn't sure if I'd offend her or something. Plus my Japanese is quite poor. In the end I figured if it was an emergency she could go inside one of the businesses for AC and help. Still felt bad just walking away from her like that. Anyone share this kind of experience or know how people like her get by?
