why does my dango never come out right?

i used this recipe: https://www.okonomikitchen.com/mitarashi-dango/ same exact ingredients and everything. it tasted great warm. popped it in the fridge and it was nasty afterwards and tasted oddly fishy. does anyone know if theres an error with the recipe?
