What are your favorite indoor things to do on hot or rainy days?

Just looking for new ideas. The main thing for me is art museums, but I've been to so many this summer.

I was thinking about teamLab but I can't decide if I wanna spend 4,200¥. There's always malls like Roppongi Hills and Omotesando Hills.

Yes I could wander around big train stations like Tokyo Station. What else?

  1. Make bread and watch stuff on Netflix while eating fresh bread.

Hot or rainy day means staying inside.

  2. Team lab is beyond awesome. I’ve been with my kids to two of them here and Tokyo and I would go again. Especially if you like art museums. They are moving living art.

  3. I go bouldering. It’s a fun little activity and there are gyms all over Tokyo. My top recommend would be B-Pump in Akihabara/Ochanomizu

  4. Stay inside and play video games. Meet friends in the evening for drinks at an izakaya.

  5. Video games and gunpla but I’m so stressed with work and getting used to things I haven’t even gotten a chance to do any of that 🙁

  6. On rainy days i like to sit by and stare out the slightly open window with my guitar and notebook.

On extremely hot days i like crank up the AC and stay in bed all day lol.

  7. The bigger stores like the radio kan or something, forgot the name, something in Akihabara or Animate in Ikebukuro. Those you can spend a few hours in honestly. If you’re into that.

  8. Something creative at home. I usually am okay with Japanese summers but this year is something else and it’s taking my energy away so I mostly stay home on weekends.

I do not want to go outside on non office days even if it’s just a walk to the station. I will reappear in my social circle in mid-September

Rainy day is a good day to go to a museum, the cinema or indoor sports facilities (there are always tons of nice exhibitions )

  9. Read books, but in a cafe or a park that has shade/cooler spots. I started doing this, and it’s so much fun!

Other than that, if I’m home, cooking! I’m observing how food prices are rising in Japan and I’m thinking it’s cheaper to cook at home.

Also, lots of self care activities like special bathing and shower routines that you hear of these days, pedicure/manicure at home, pilates, making fruit mocktails, watching Netflix, and of course, sleeping!

  10. “The same thing we do every night, Pinky…”

“Doom scroll reddit until we get tired and fall asleep at 2pm”

  11. Trying to go from one side of Shinjuku station to the other without back tracking or using my phone.

I have been in here since 2014..
