  1. The article lists five steps

    1. Get your Master’s Degree

    2. Complete a Cambridge CELTA

    3. Give as many Presentations as you Can

    4. Get Yourself Published

    5. Network and Attend Conferences

You can ignore step 2 (CELTA) but the other steps are important.

However, to be honest, I would recommend getting a PhD right after your Masters. Many schools offer integrated programs where you can the PhD just 2 years after the MA. Many Universities are starting to require PhDs for the “good” positions so I would recommend getting that.

  2. Good article! However, I echo some of your sentiments here and I agree that the list needs to be revised accordingly:
    1. Networking
    2. Credentials (Min. MA in education related field)
    3. Publications and Presentations (in this order)
    4. Japanese proficiency for admin matters
    5.Plenty of luck🍀
