My boyfriend and I will go to Japan in little over a month. It's our first time, so we want to discover what Japan has to offer. Our hotels and flights have been booked. We would like some feedback on our itinerary, it includes areas we'd like to visit and explore. If there are good restaurants, or other spots that you'd recommend, please feel free to suggest them to us! Thanks in advance for looking over our plans! 🙂
Day 1 – 4: Tokyo Part I
Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo Narita
- Disembark, collect luggage and go to our hotel in Akihabara
- Check-in and unpack
- Explore surroundings Akihabara a bit
- Dinner at the Eorzea Café
Day 2: Akihabara and Ueno
- \*Morning***
- Akihabara exploration, Part II
- Lunch – to be decided
- \*Afternoon***
- Go to Ueno Area
- Ueno's Amayoko
- Shinebazunoike Benten-do
- Gojoten Shrine
- Tokyo National Museum
- Dinner – to be decided (suggestions?)
Day 3 Harajuku and Shibuya
- **Morning**
- Meiji Shrine
- Harajuku, Takeshita street, Cat Street, surroundings
- Lunch at Sushi Shibuya
- **Afternoon**
- Explore Shibuya and visit
- Pokémon Center
- Nintendo Center
- Shibuya Sky at sunset
- Walk through Nonbei Yokocho OR go to Kill Bill Restaurant, Gonpachi Nishiazabu
Day 4 Free time and Shinjuku
- **Morning**
- Free time // unplanned (Maybe Tokyo Central Station area and Ginza)
- **Afternoon**
- Explore Shinjuku
- Metropolitan Government Building (observation Deck)
- Dinner suggestions are welcome!
Day 5 – 9 Kyoto and day trips
Day 5 Arrival in Kyoto
- **Morning**
- Travel to Kyoto with Shinkansen
- Arrive at hotel around noon and unpack
- Explore area of hotel
- Gion
- Nishiki Market
- Nintendo store Kyoto and Pokemon center Kyoto
Day 6: Eastern Kyoto Exploration
- **All day**
- Kiyomizu-Dera
- Sannenzaka
- Ninezaka
- Yasaka Shrine
- Philosopher's Path
Day 7: Explore Fushimi Inari and Kinkaku-ji
**Morning**
Go to Fushimi Inari and get climbing
**Afternoon**
Walk or Bike to Kinkaku-ji via Kyoto Goen
Day 8: Daytrip to Uji and Nara
- Uji in the Morning
Nara in the afternoon
Day 9: Daytrip to Osaka
Tokyo again: Day 10-11
Day 10: Asakusa and Ginza
- **Morning**
- Explore Asakusa
- Senso-ji Temple
- Snacks at Chacha Futatsume and Asakusa Kagetsudo
- Visit Tokyo SkyTree
- **Afternoon**
- Explore Tokyo central station Area
Day 11: Final Day, shopping
- Explore Ginza for shopping
- Odaiba, DiverCity for shopping
