I’m an avid lurker here and finally decided to ask my first question. The information provided in this community has been really helpful—so I’d really appreciate it if some of you could share your insights to help with my decision-making.
After living in Tokyo for 11 years, I’m now thinking about buying an apartment here. Most of my funds are still in my home country, though. Could anyone clarify if I’d face any taxes if I were to wire transfer around 50 to 80 million yen (5000万〜8000万) to my Japanese bank account to cover the deposit?
