Itinerary Check – 2 weeks in Nagano and Gifu prefecture

I have an upcoming trip planned to Japan from end of October to mid November. This is my second time in Japan and I'm trying to see more of the countryside. It would be great if have any thoughts on this itinerary and whether it's feasible. Really appreciate any recommendations and your time reviewing it!

October 31: Tokyo to Nagano

• Morning: Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagano. Lock luggage at the station.
• Afternoon: Explore Zenko-ji Temple and old streets of Nagano.
• Evening: Travel to Shibu Onsen and check in at the ryokan.
• Accommodation: Shibu Onsen

November 1: Nagano and Shibu Onsen

• Morning: Visit Jigokudani Monkey Park.
• Afternoon: Return to Shibu Onsen and explore the town.
• Accommodation: Shibu Onsen

November 2: Nagano to Matsumoto

• Morning: Train to Matsumoto, check in, and leave luggage.
• Afternoon: Visit Matsumoto Castle and explore Nakamachi-district.
• Evening: Relax and enjoy local cuisine.
• Accommodation: Matsumoto (forward luggage to Takayama)

November 3: Matsumoto to Kamikochi

• Morning: Bus to Kamikochi.
• Afternoon: Explore Kamikochi, including Kappa-bashi Bridge and hiking trails.
• Accommodation: near Kamikochi.

November 4: Kamikochi to Takayama

• Morning: Morning exploration in Kamikochi.
• Afternoon: Bus to Takayama and explore the old town
• Accommodation: Takayama

November 5: Takayama

• Morning: Visit Takayama Jinya and morning markets.
• Afternoon: Explore Hida Folk Village.
• Evening: Enjoy local Hida beef for dinner.
• Accommodation: Takayama

November 6: Takayama to Shirakawa-go

• Morning: Bus to Shirakawa-go, store luggage in coin lockers.
• Afternoon: Explore Shirakawa-go, visit a farmhouse, and have lunch.
• Evening: Travel to Kanazawa, check in, and explore the city.
• Accommodation: Kanazawa

November 7: Kanazawa

• Morning: Discover Kanazawa’s Edo-period districts and art scene.
• Afternoon: Continue exploring Kanazawa.
• Evening: Free time.
• Accommodation: Kanazawa

November 8: Kanazawa

• Morning: Visit Kenrokuen Garden.
• Afternoon: Explore Kanazawa Castle, 21st Century Museum, and Nagamachi Samurai district.
• Evening: Enjoy fresh seafood dinner.
• Accommodation: Kanazawa (forward luggage to Yokohama)

November 9: Kanazawa to Magome (via Nagoya)

• Morning: Train from Kanazawa to Nagoya, then travel to Magome.
• Evening: Explore the quiet streets of Magome.
• Accommodation: Magome or nearby

November 10: Magome to Tsumago (Nakasendo trail)

• Morning: Hike the Nakasendo route from Magome to Tsumago.
• Afternoon: Explore Tsumago, then take the bus to the station and return to Yokohama.
• Evening: Arrive in Yokohama and check in.
• Accommodation: Yokohama
