Itinerary Check: 12 Days Travel in Sapporo/ Hakodate/ Aomori

Hi everyone, I would be travelling to Japan with my family, a group of four, this upcoming Mid-September. We have travelled to Japan in the past, but this is the first time we’re going up north to the Tohoku and Hokkaido Regions. I have done up a first draft for the trip and would love to obtain some feedback from this sub. I would like to check if this itinerary and pacing makes sense and if there is any must see attractions that I’ve missed out in Sapporo/Hakodate/Aomori. Thanks!

(As this is my first time posting on Reddit, I am not sure whether there is anything wrong with the structure of the post)

Day 0: Sapporo
– Land in CTS in late afternoon (transiting from HND)
– Rest in Hotel (near Odorikoen), Tanukikoji Shopping Street area for Dinner
– Explore Susukino

Day 1: Sapporo
– Walk around Odori Park and go up the Sapporo TV Tower
– Shiroi Koibito Park
– Sapporo Beer Museum

Day 2: Day Trip to Furano and Biei (booked a Tour on Klook)

Day 3: Sapporo/ Day Trip to Otaru
– Moerenuma Park (Should I move this to Day 5?)
– After Lunch head to Otaru for a Day Trip (any advice on how long to spend there?)

Day 4: Free Day in Sapporo
– Sapporo, but unplanned (I would rather leave this day empty for now, but open to suggestions)

Day 5: Sapporo
– Sapporo Satoland
– Walk around Central Sapporo
– Take the Hokuto Train to Hakodate in the evening

Day 6: Hakodate
– Lake Onuma
– Hakodate Red Rick Warehouses
– Motomachi
– Reach Mount Hakodate observation deck just before sunset

Day 7: Hakodate
– Goryokaku Tower/ Park and Hakodate Magistrate’s Office
– Cape Tachimachi
– Take the Shinkansen from Shin-Hakodate Hokuto Station to Aomori in the evening (hotel is there, using it as a base for Day 8 to 10)

Day 8: Day Trip to Hirosaki
– Hirosaki Apple Park
– Hirosaki Castle
– Neputa Village
– Return to Aomori Station for Dinner

Day 9: Day Trip to Oirase Stream and Lake Towada (booked a private tour)

Day 10: Aomori City
– No fixed plan in mind yet, but shortlisting Aomori Bay Promenade, A-Factory, Neputa Museum into the list.
– Take evening flight from Aomori Airport to Tokyo

Day 11: Tokyo
– Nothing planned yet, but would probably just revisit the spots I liked when I visited Tokyo previously
– Might go cafe hopping in Tokyo, open to any suggestions for any good spots

Day 12: Return
– Late morning flight, taking limousine bus to HND

Questions about the Trip:
1. We would be travelling using public transport; is it feasible to travel to the attractions listed above?
2. Is it considered Summer or Autumn if travelling to Hokkaido/ Aomori in mid-September? What clothes do y’all recommend bringing along for the trip?
3. Is September considered a popular time to visit Hokkaido? If yes, it is recommended to book the Hokuto & Hokkaido Shinkansen beforehand?
4. I am allergic to seafood (mainly prawns), it is still recommended to visit any of the morning markets? (e.g. Nijo Market, Hakodate Morning Market) Or should I leave them out completely?

Thank you in advance and have a great day ahead!
