Your typical everyday conversation

Your typical everyday conversation

  1. I’m having a bit of trouble seeing how the part about ‘coherency’ applies to many Japanese conversations that come up in the N1-5 materials..

The longer I learn Japanese, the more I’m starting to think it’s actually not the *language* I don’t understand, but the Japanese people themselves.

  2. Hang on so, what’s the problem here? Is it that you don’t understand the text or that you don’t see how it’s everyday conversation?

  3. I don’t get it.

What was the point of the post meant to be? The difficulty of everyday conversation? The random “a” “aa” “uwa” sounds which are nothing short of nonsensical when put to text?

I read your comment about the coherence but I still didn’t get it. Are you saying the passage seemed incoherent to you?

Would appreciate it if you could clarify.

  4. I don’t study for the JLPT specifically, but I do use 新完全マスター textbooks for reviewing and benchmarking. About 20 pages into the N3 読解, and I gotta say this feels *insanely* underwhelming for N2. For whatever reason, SKM doesn’t particularly hold back on using N2 and N1 vocab in full kanji that’s not taught in SKM’s N3 curriculum.

That’s really my only critique with the passage, that it feels like a total buzzkill.
