Hey there, folks
This is my first post here, been living in Tokyo for a little over 2 years now, just moved from a sharehouse to my own apart, pretty cool overall but a lot of stuff to care about besides rent. Long story short I got biglobe hikari… except is not hikari because my building only has phone jack vdsl plugs, which means 100 mbps tops (I actually get 89 mbps most of the time) is not that bad but I feel it's kinda crazy to pay for 1 gbps net and get only 100 mbps because I happen to live in a… well, I don't wanna say shitty, less than ideal, let's say, building, If I'm not mistaken I would get the total 1gbps for the exact same price, if my building happened to have hikari ready structure… Anyway, I heard from a Big camera employee that you can get the home plan despite living in a mansion if you live 3rd floor or lower and get approval from the owner of the room (which I did already)
But that was like, other provider, also that was at the application, I already got the mansion plan so I'm wondering if I can change after the fact and what are the implications
If you're wondering why I'm asking you and not them… Well, my japanese level is kinda odd… I have N3 but I can flip to having a reasonable conversation to not understanding jack in seconds, so… yeah, that's why
Specially business phone calls, mfs wanna talk at 1.5x speed while using teinei, I'm not ready yet
Anyway, appreciate any help! BTW I'm also wondering if there's any advantage into changing my phone provider to also being biglobe (It's IIJ right now and it's kinda meh) so some insight on this would also be appreciated
