Hello! I have done a ton of research into my upcoming Japan trip and the last bit of my itinerary that I am not 100% confident with, and most stressed about, is this Mt. Fuji part. If you are familiar with that area or have done any of these activities and have advice, etc, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
My boyfriend and I will be travelling in to the area from Kyoto and will likely arrive late at the hotel, just in time for dinner (ryokan style!) and maybe enjoy some of the other activities the hotel has to offer. So unfortunately I highly doubt I'll be able to do any of the Mt. Fuji activities I want to do this day. I will only have the next day to do what I want to do before taking the latest train possible into Tokyo.
So please friends, how possible do you think this is??? If you've been to the attractions, how long would you say to spend there? How reliable and easy to use are the buses?? Or are there other options to better fit all of this in like taxi's or hiring a driver?!?
Hotel Kaneyamaen – enjoy breakfast provided by the hotel, let's say ready to leave by 0900.
Visit Yamanakako Hananomiyako Park which is about 30 min bus ride from the hotel according to Google.
Maybe visit Oshino Hakkai which is about 30 mins bus ride from the park, I'm willing to drop this one if I have to.
I was thinking of either using the luggage service to send our bigger luggage on ahead to Tokyo in the morning (if it arrives in time before we have to leave Japan). But if that's not an option, then at this point I was thinking of stopping by Kawaguchiko Train Station and storing our luggage here. It's about 40 mins bus ride from Oshino.
Then I wanted to go to Arakurayama Sengen Park which is about a 35 min bus from Kawaguchiko Station.
Next stop being Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway about a 60 mins bus trip from Sengen Park.
Last visit at Kawaguchi Asama Shrine & Tenku no Torii which is about 60 min from Ropeway.
Finally, it's about a 14 min bus back to Kawaguchiko Station, I am hoping we can catch the 8:15 pm bus to Tokyo as I believe it's the second last one, but if there are later ones that would give us more time as well.
I wish we had more time in this area but unfortunately I didn't realize that getting TO the hotel on the first day would take up most of that first day that I would otherwise have split up some of these attractions. Many thanks for your time and assistance!!
