So I got rejected by a driving school for not knowing some special traffic words in Japanese.

Which is cool, I understand that the instructors only speak Japanese (despite them welcoming foreigners and advertising the written tests available in English, Portuguese etc), and there are some words we need to understand for safety reasons etc.

The kicker is this, they will not tell you or provide any information on which words you have to learn. The response I got was "search the internet". So while I am happy to bone up on some traffic safety language, it helps to know what …

So the test was pretty simple, read about 25 words conveniently written in hiragana, and after then give a brief explanation showing you know the meaning. With a 70% understanding rate to pass. Pretty sure they don't change the words ever.

Anyone been through a similar process or have any helpful information, other than "find another driving school" because there just aren't that many around here I can access easily.
