Hello! Me and my Mum are planning on visiting Osaka/Nara/etc and I need advice about the initeary planned (especially Koyasan) here is how it looks like now:
DAY 1-3 Osaka
(Osaka castle & park, TeamLab, USJ,
Dotonbori, Tenmangu, Shitennoji, etc.)
DAY 4 Kobe
(Nunobiki garden, waterfall?, walk at the port, Arima onsen?)
DAY 5 Himeji (day trip from Kobe)
(Himeji castle, Kokoen garden, Engyoji temple)
DAY 6 Koyasan??
DAY 7-9 Nara
(Nara park,Todaiji temple,Nara national museum, Kasuga Taisha, Isuien garden, Yoshikien garden, Kofokuji temple, possible day trips…)
Now, I would love to visit Koyasan and many people have said it was the highlight of their trip. But unfortunately the prices shocked me, it is around 500-800€ for one night on the days we could visit… also it is a bit far from both Kobe and Nara, and a bit of a hassle changing trains/buses that many times. Because of these reasons I am unsure about going. What is your opinion? Would it be worth it? Are there any alternatives you would recommend (similar experience to Koyasan) or perhaps should we go to Nara straight from Kobe, and go on nearby day trips? Or should we stay somewhere else between Kobe and Nara?
I would appreciate any ideas 😀
