Hi everyone,
Hoping you all can help with a quick question about my upcoming trip to Japan! My fiance and I have an extra day or two in between Hakone and Kyoto, and were wondering if people have strong thoughts about using this extra time to go to the Izu peninsula or Osaka. We lean towards the Izu peninsula (specifically Shimoda), because we ultimately spend 8 total days in the cities Tokyo and Kyoto, and we want to also experience the country side / coast. Is Osaka "can't miss" for a first time visitor to Japan? Or should we go with what we're feeling and pop down to Izu? Rough itinerary below:
Sept. 4 – 8: Tokyo
Sept. 8 – 9: Hakone
Sept. 9 – 11: Osaka or Izu Peninsula (Shimoda)
Sept. 11 – 14: Kyoto
