Hi all,
This will be our second visit to Japan after our initial trip last year. Like many people, once we got back from our first trip, all we could do was think about our next and so that's why we're going again so soon.
HOWEVER, we did a lot of our "oh my god we HAVE to do that / go there" things the first time around, and whilst we're of course going to do some of them again, we want to experience something different.
At the moment, our itinerary only consists of Tokyo / Kyoto / Hakone, but I'd be open to suggestions for other areas to visit if you think there's a "must visit" that is often missed! Some of our days feel quite packed, whilst others feel very bare.
We're massive nerds, hence the amount of nerdy things (Akiba, themed cafes etc) and are definitely looking for any "experiences" (workshops / omakases etc), so please don't hold back!
Day 1
- Arrive into Haneda
- Travel to hotel to check bags
- Meet up with friends & go to Hiiragi to make Omamori bracelets
- All you can eat Wagyu lunch
- Group dinner & wandering area (undecided where yet)
Day 2
- Monster Hunter Cafe in the morning
- Akiba exploring
- Shibuya Sky @ sunset
- Karaoke & Drinks with group
Day 3
- Teamlabs Borderless in AM
- Shibuya Shopping (Parco – Pokemon, Nintendo etc)
- Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory for snacks
- Kabuchiko Tower in PM for food & entertainment
Day 4
- Cookery Class @ Baba Ramen (AM -> Lunch)
- Starbucks Roastery?
- Tokyo Tower
- Meet with friends for one last meal before they leave
Day 5
- Lazy morning
- Tokyo → Hakone
- Check into hotel
- Use Onsen & relax for evening
Day 6
- Hakone Loop
- Open Air Museum
- Tozan Rail Car
- Boat across the river
- Relax in onsen
Day 7
- Hakone → Kyoto
- Check into hotel
- Sagano Romance train
- Adashino Nenbutsuji
- Hozugawa river boat back
Day 8
- Nintendo Museum
- Make rings @ glänta
- Fushimi Inari
- Inari Food stall street
Day 9
Kyoto → Nara (day trip)
Get mugged by the deer in the park
Explore surrounding temples etc
Day 10
- Philsophers path
- Ginkaku-ji
Day 11
- Kyoto- → Tokyo
- Kiriko glass cutting workshop (Taito City)
- Kappabashi street
- Sensoji Temple
- Tokyo Skytree
- Pokemon Centre?
- Dandelion Cafe for snacks
Day 12
- Ghibli Museum
- Nakano Broadway
Day 13
- Lake Kawaguchiko for Fuji Viewing
Day 14
- Back to Akiba for big time shopping
Days 15-18
- Unsure of what to do
Day 19
- Fly home 🙁
