We (5 young adults) are going to travel to Tokyo for 11 day from late October until early November. I put together the itinerary for the trip and I would appreciate some feedback on it. Feel free to recommend changes and/or some good places to check/restaurants.
Day 1 (Thrusday) Arrival
12:30 Tokyo Haneda Airport
We buy the IC card together and then we take the reserved transport to our apartment (east of Ikebokuro).
15:00 Free program for the rest of the day
Resting at the apartment, perhaps visiting the neighboring spa to ease the fatigue of the long journey
Day 2 (Friday) Minato City and Odaiba
10:00 TeamLab Borderless
12:30 Lunch around the Tokyo Tower
13:30 Checking out Tokyo Tower
15:00 Uniqlo Ginza flagship store and Godzilla Statue
Optional program depending on how much time we spend around Tokyo Tower.
17:00 – 18:00 Walk across the Rainbow Bridge
19:00 Dinner on Odaiba Island and checking the Giant Gundam Statue
Day 3 (Saturday) Yokohama day trip
10:30-11:00 Kirin Brewery visit
13:15 Yokohama's Chinatown – Lunch
15:00 Osanbashi Pier
17:00 Minato Mirai
19:00 We have dinner at the Ramen Museum in Yokohama
Day 4 (Sunday) Akihabara and Asakusa
10:00 Akihabara/Ueno Park
12:30 Lunch around Akihabara, then we'll continue sightseeing/shopping if there's anything else
14:00 private 1.5-hour dress-up tea ceremony in Asakusa
16:30 Senso-Ji Shrine
19:00 Dinner near the Skytree
Day 5 (Monday) Kamakura and Enoshima day trip
10:00 Arrival at Kamakura
In order to last the whole day's trip, we buy sandwiches and water, then have breakfast together.
11:00 We travel by bus to the Great Buddha statue
11:20 We will see the Great Buddha statue, then we will set off on the Daibutsu hiking trail.
12:20 We stop to rest a bit and eat the food we bought.
13:00-13:30 End of the hiking route
After that, we will travel by bus to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
15:00 – 15:15 Departure to Enoshima
16:15 Arrival at Enoshima
We walk into the island and look for the view of Mount Fuji.
18:00 Dinner at a restaurant in Enoshima.
A little evening walk after that before heading back home.
Day 6 (Tuesday) Kawagoe day trip
10:00 Departure to Kawagoe
11:30: We will visit the Kawagoe City Museum
12:30 Lunch somewhere in Kawagoe
13:30 We will visit the Edo period city district
Attractions: Candy alley, warehouse district, Honmaru Goten, Kitain shrine
16:30-17:00 Departure home
18:30 Dinner somewhere around our apartment
Optionally, it can be connected with the observation deck of the Sunshine 60 shopping center in Ikebokuro, which is relatively close to our apartment.
Day 7 (Wednesday) Shinjuku
11:00 Meiji Shrine
13:00 Lunch around the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
After that, we will walk in the garden and admire the surroundings.
16:00 We go up to the observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
17:30 Head to Kabukicho, checking out Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai
19:00 Dinner in Kabukicho somewhere
20:00 We sit down to drink somewhere, get a taste of Tokyo's nightlife
24:00 Latest time when we can still take public transport home
Day 8 (Thurshday) Shibuya
11:00 – 12:00 Shibuya Scramble Crossing
12:00 Lunch in Shibuya
13:00-17:00 Walking around Shibuya, shopping day:
Loft, Hands, Don Quijote, Shibuya 109, etc.
17:00 We travel back to our apartment with our purchased things and put them down.
18:00 Train back to Shibuya to have dinner
19:00 Dive into the Shibuya nightlife, have a drink, look for a Halloween party if possible.
24:00 Take the last train back to our apartment
Day 9 (Friday) Imperial Palace and Shimokitazawa
10:30 – 11:00 Imperial Palace
Depending on what time we get up in the morning
12:30 Lunch near the Palace
14:00 We head towards the south-western part of Tokyo by public transport and look for Saitama's apartment near Meidaimae station.
16:00 Snack at the Shiro-hige cream puff factory
17:30 We go over to the Shimokitazawa district.
We walk a little, explore.
19:00 We have dinner in Shimokitazawa
Day 10 (Saturday) Mount Takao day trip or Joker day
10:30 Departure to Mount Takao
12:00 Arrival at the Takao station
We have lunch before the tour, we buy water and snacks.
13:00 Mountain hiking
Optional cable car ride, hiking up the mountain
16:00-17:00 Departure home
19:00 Dinner somewhere in Tokyo, then free time
OPTIONAL: We will skip the Mount Takao tour and see what we have missed from Tokyo so far, maybe we go back somewhere.
Day 11 (Sunday) Last day
12:00 Check-out from the apartment
12:00 – 16:30 free program in Tokyo
16:30 Departure to the airport
