Recently got into Japanese history and been looking for a good podcast to listen to. This is by far the best one I’ve come across.
Tons of detail and a lot of interesting discussion on certain events and notable people. Highly recommended if you want to learn more about Japanese history.

Thanks for the link, I might check it out. Does whoever runs the podcast pronounce the names correctly? Haha
Another GREAT podcast is Dan Carlin’s Supernova in the East episodes on Hardcore History. It tracks the events leading up to Japan entering WWII.

Also, I’ve listened to the History of Japan — it is really good.
Thought this might be a good place to share Japan On The Record, another good Japanese studies podcast!

That one’s good. I prefer History of Japan by Isaac Meyer and Samurai Archives podcast.
Sengoku Daimyo’s history of Japan is decent as well.
Oh man, there’s a “History of Japan” and a separate “A History of Japan” podcast. I think your link is to the second, are these both good?
Here is a more historically accurate history of Japan: https://youtu.be/Mh5LY4Mz15o
