My daughter possesses both passports and I seem to be getting conflicting information. Will she be forced to give up one passport at a cerain age or is it more of a “don’t ask don’t tell” scenario? Thanks much
No. There is a technical law but it is unenforced. Don’t ask don’t tell. No one has ever been asked to give up a passport in this situation.
My daughters are both in their late 20s and have always had both those passports and use them interchangeably.
Make sure to always keep passports up-to-date. I could possibly imagine a “sticking to the rule” if one passport lapsed.
I have a friend who naturalized Japanese citizenship and still have 2 passports so I would say they just dont really enforced the law tho. Just dont ask dont tell I guess.
