Reminder if you see another basic results post after this one (especially one from a website trying to shill their content) it is considered a repost and should be reported as such. The mod will not delete it, because they haven’t checked mod mail in at least a year, but if enough of you report it (or any rule-breaking post) it gets automatically removed.

  1. Callum and Takagi was great, the Main Event sucked, everything else was pretty good.

  2. I don’t get why they made Jake Lee squash SANADA if it’s to take 3 losses just after that. They made SANADA look like a bitch for nothing.
Main event was fun and Naito looked better than in his previous matches. He loses a lot for a world champion though. And next he has to face SANADA. Is he taking a 4th loss or is SANADA losing to Naito for the third time in a row ? Kinda booked themselves in a corner.

  3. Lee and ZSJ showing how to put up a slow paced good match. Still puzzled by some booking decisions so far.

  4. Fuckin’ hell, Callum. Go on then, mate. Got that prediction wrong but frankly I’m not mad about it. Definitely the biggest win of his career.

  5. Petition to rename Takeshita’s forearm as “just a fucking forearm to the jaw” moving forward.

Also, thank you for finally calling out those who use reddit threads to promote their websites. That shit has been annoying for a while now.

You really need to be a mod here.

  6. We need to fire Gedo. 3/5 of the results made me actively sigh in frustration. Some truly disgusting and heinous results tonight.

    Yes, I’m mad.

  7. Next A Block matches:

    EVIL vs. Newman

    Khan vs. Lee

    Sabre vs. Umino

    Kidd vs. Takagi

    Naito vs. SANADA

  8. Idk how hard EVIL is sucking on Gedos and Tanahashis dick but this needs to stop

  9. I’ve got a horrible feeling it’s going to be Naito, EVIL and SANADA that make it out of the blocks at the expense of Umino, ZSJ and Kidd/Takagi (can’t choose between the two).

I love Naito but I hope SANADA’s run last year hasn’t set a precedent that the champion should advance in the G1. What’s the point? They’re never going to win the tournament. And, unlike last year where mystifyingly SANADA was booked to go undefeated only to lose to EVIL immediately, Naito already has challengers set up for the post G1 pre WK season so I’m cautiously optimistic.

SANADA and EVIL go without saying, if NJPW is serious about their future Umino at the very least needs to be advancing. Same with Gabe Kidd but that’s expecting too much of this company. But realistically Jake Lee/SANADA/EVIL in the knockouts over Umino/ZSJ/Takagi – (ill accept Naito getting through over Takagj solely because he has a title challenge lined up after beating him on night 1) – will just suck the life out of that side of the tournament completely.
