i had a shinkansen ticket which was supposed to be from 3:16pm-5:30ish pm but was stopped abruptly due to the typhoon and was redirected back to Kyoto, arriving back at 12:30am.
i’m at quite a loss and don’t know what to do as this caused quite the snowball effect as i’m forced to cancel multiple itineraries in Tokyo and not sure what else to squeeze out of Kyoto as I’m stuck here. to make matters worse, today (Friday) all shinkansen trains headed toward Tokyo will be closed and Saturday to Monday’s status is unconfirmed, leaving all the other things I had planned in Tokyo to possibly be canceled.
i have to go to Tokyo before Tuesday as that day is when i fly back to my home country.
should i try my luck and ride the shinkansen this saturday? having to endure 7 hours of fruitless waiting was painful… or will i be forced to reschedule my flight back?
any thoughts would be helpful!
