I am celebrating my 30th birthday solo travelling and this is my two week itinerary so far. I am wanting to find a balance of city and more chill/traditional experiences so this is what I have so far. Please let me know if this will be too much or if there's any places I should remove edit etc.
DAY 1 TOKYO (Asakusa)
-land at Narita at 3pm
-check in to hotel in asakusa (6pmish)
-walk around asakusa and experience the toro no ichi festival start
DAY 2 TOKTO (Ueno / Akihabara)
-Explore more of Asakusa and the festival
-walk to Ueno park and maybe go to Tokyo World Museum
-By night time make it to Akihabara and explore around
DAY 3 TOKYO
-check in to hotel in Shinjuku
-Explore Shinjuku
-If there's time Explore Shibuya / Harajuku
DAY 4 TOKYO
-Team Labs Planets
– more shibuya / harajuku exploration
DAY 5 KANAZAWA
-leave Tokyo early morning and arrive at Kanazawa by 9am
– Explore Kenrokuen gardens, ninja house tour, omakase meal
DAY 6 KYOTO
-Explore pontoncho alley, geisha district, walk around and see temples.
DAY 7 KYOTO
-Arashiyama day!
-take the romantic train and boat ride back
-take small hike up to lesser known temples and walk around
DAY 8 KYOTO
-Fushimi Inari in the morning
-Travel to Uji day!
-Buy matcha
-Explore oldest tea shop
– Maybe take a bus to Osaka for dinner or nightlife
DAY 9 KYOTO
– Attend samurai festival in north kyoto (off the beaten path)
– see chitengo temple ( blood footprints)
– go to Nara for half day? (Enough time?)
-Explore temple and mochi shop
DAY 10 OSAKA
-switch hotel to Osaka
-Explore America Mura, Dontonbori, shinsekai
-enjoy nightlife
DAY 11 ATAMI
-Travel to atami and Explore shops around station
-check in to ryokan for the day
DAY 12 KAMAKURA
-stop by kamakura on the Travel back to Tokyo
– Explore
-Arrive back in Tokyo and Explore Golden Gai
DAY 13 TOKYO
-Final day of Toro no ichi festival
-go to pokemon centers and explore
-grab Souvenirs
DAY 14 TOKYO / LEAVE
-wake up early and enjoy japan until I leave in the late afternoon
