Hello everyone, this will be my partner's and I second trip to Japan, but we will travel with a newbie to the country, so we will revisit some places that we already visited in October '23.
Back then we stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima, and also visited Miyajima and Nara.
This time, even though I love Kyoto, we will not be coming back.
We will stay in Tokyo, Kamakura, Osaka and Kinosaki Onsen.
Dates: Second week of January 2025.
Tokyo (accommodation Sotetsu Fresa Inn Akasaka)
Day 0:
Arrival in Narita, making our way to Akasaka.
Day 1:
- Meiji Jingu Shrine.
- Harajuku area, Cat Street.
- Shibuya. Just wander around (any recommendations?)
- Possibly add Shibuya Sky – I am not sure if it's a good idea in winter with the cold, or a different observatory would be better. Last time I loved the SkyTree.
Day 2:
- TeamLab Borderless.
- Go get a nice view of Tokyo Tower. I guess it won't take too long from Borderless.
- Ginza, just walk around.
- Explore Akasaka: Hie Shrine, Harry Potter Square.
Day 3:
- Asakusa – Sensoji Temple and Observatory of the temple from the Tourist Information Center.
- Akihabara – Just walk around, play some arcades.
- Shinjuku – Walk from the station to Kabukicho and around.
Day 4:
- Breakfast at Tsukiji Market.
- Yanaka Ginza.
- Explore Ikekuburo (any recommendations?)
Kamakura (accommodation Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura)
Day 5:
- Arrival from Tokyo to Enoshima.
- Go up to the Sea Candle.
- Hase-dera Temple.
- Great Buddha.
Day 6:
- Tsurukoga Hachinangu Shrine
- Hokokuji Temple
- Komachodiri Street
- Travel to Osaka
Osaka (accommodation Hotel Brighton Kitahama)
Day 7:
- It will be evening or late, so probably just Dotonbori after arrival and check in.
Day 8:
- Universal Studios
Day 9:
- Kuronom Market
- Den Den Town
- Shinsekai
- Namba Yasaka Shrine
Day 10:
- Day trip to Himeji Castle.
- If no other destination is paired with Himeji, visiting Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street back in Osaka?
Day 11:
- Day trip to Uji
- Pair Uji with anything else?
Kinosaki Onsen (accommodation Morizuya)
Day 12:
- Visit Umeda Sky Building before taking the train to Kinosaki?
- Check in
- Visit to onsens
- Stay overnight
Osaka (same accommodation as before)
Day 13:
- On the way back to Osaka, visit Shinsaibashi.
- Amerika-mura
Day 14:
Anything we have left out in Osaka.
Day 15:
Departure from Osaka airport.
