We are from Australia. We are going to Nagano in late December and am looking to hire a car from car hire next to JR Nagano. We are looking to drive to visit Shiga Kogen, Snow Monkey Park etc. Are there potential risks driving up to Shiga Kogen? Do I need any snow chains etc? Anything to watch out for?
