I have a vacation property in Japan that I am thinking to rent out while I'm not using it and living elsewhere in Japan. Im considering both short term (3-6 with a short term contract) or long term (12-24 months+).
What is the tax you pay on the rental income?
Is it classified as income or capital gains?
My concern is the legal implications as I'm not on PR – I plan to talk with an immigration or real estate lawyer before anyways, but wanted to check here in case anyone has experience.
