I've bought an almost brand new bike (40km) through an auction here in Japan, and just reached a 1000km mark, where I'm supposed to my first 点検 (inspection). Since I bought it through an auction, I know I'm supposed to pay for this ( listed fee is 30,000JPY ), but trying to book an inspection through the online website, I keep getting dealers response – we can only service bikes bought through us.
I previously bought my bike through dealership, and had some cold responses from the customer service, but didn't expect to be refused for planned maintenance service.
Is this a thing with most dealerships?
