hello everyone,
So we have close to 5 days in Kyoto but we are taking a day trip to do Uji and Nara which leaves us with only 4 days and there is so much to see. My itinerary feels super packed when i do like to just walk around. I'm not a fan of big crowds, but we are planning to wake up early when needed, and hopefully late October is not too bad.
Here's my itinerary, i'm super open to critics and i also need help because i would love to add Saihoji but i'm not sure how or when. (yes, there is available tickets still)
11th, arriving from Hiroshima: Visiting Gion early in the afternoon + Pontocho Alley + Walk Along the Kamogawa River after dinner.
12th: Central Kyoto (this day feels way too busy? am i right? is there one i should remove?)
AM: Kinkaku-ji + Ryoan-ji
PM: Nijo Castle + Kyoto Imperial Palace
13th: Eastern Kyoto (open to switch both Am and PM to finish at Fushimi Inari at sunset)
AM: Fushimi Inari Taisha + hiking to the top
PM: Kiyomizu-dera + Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka
14: Uji (tea ceremony, visit some tea house for shopping. mostly looking to buy some matcha haha) + Nara (Todai-ji, Kasuga Taisha Shrine)
15: Northern Kyoto (should we rent a bike?)
AM: Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Monkey Park, Tenryu-ji Temple
PM: Philosopher's Path
Leaving on the 16 for Hakone (stopover on our way to Tokyo for some onsen, and morning hike on the next day) but open to move something in the morning and leave around lunch.
thanks a lot!!
