I’ve heard that social rules in Japan about behavior on public transport are pretty strict, like no talking, no being on your phone ecc. However, I’m autistic and I need to either wear earphones or earplugs on public transport because of noise sensitivity. I was wondering how is wearing earphones/listening to music on public transport viewed in Japan (especially Okinawa, since I’ll be moving there). I have a long monorail journey from the airport to where I’ll be staying, and I don’t want to be the weird loud foreigner on my first day…
