Daytrip to wakayama from osaka worth it?

I was looking for day/half day activites and found the city of wakayama south of osaka. It gas a big japanese castle and some other things and it is reachable by train from osaka in less than 90mins. Did someone here visit wakayama before and can say if it's worth visiting? Thanks in advance
