Kyushu Visit Recommendations

I (33f, solo travelling) am planning to take my first trip to Japan next April. I'm spending the first week (April 5-12) in Tokyo and Kyoto but I'm hoping for feedback on the second week (April 13-17), when I plan to head to Kyushu.

I'm very interested in seeing a quieter side of Japan, especially after going to Tokyo and Kyoto during a peak period. I especially want to see rice fields, small towns, and nature. Seeing secluded shrines or temples is a big bonus. I'm planning to rent a car, since some of these trips look long for public transportation and I would like the flexibility.  My tentative itinerary is below but I'm open to alternate suggestions

Day 1

My current plan is to stay in Fukuoka and do day trips, so I intend to take a day around the city itself. I'm arriving from Kyoto, likely around noon. What I'm most interested in is the Meoto Iwa married rocks, Canal City, and Hakata. I'm not sure if Fukuoka can be done in a half day plus evenings through the rest of the week.

Day 2

Arita and Imari- the porcelain villages. I want to see the porcelain torii and love glassware in general. This is a must for me and my main reason for visiting Kyushu on my first trip. I plan to see the porcelain museum and visit Owachiyama Village as well.

Day 3

Yanagawa- I am entranced by the idea of a canal city (having never been to Venice). I am also interested in seeing the clan home here, since I don't think I'll have an opportunity to do so otherwise. I might be able to catch the annual wisteria festival. Depending on time, I might try to visit Yame Central Tea Plantation on the way back to Fukuoka.

Day 4

I plan to visit Karastu and see the castle and pine forest, as well as the nearby (I hope) Shiraito Falls. Depending on how long this takes, some exploring around Karatsu or the surrounding area. Evening is the Hamanoura Rice Field, another key sight for me, though I would be interested in hearing about alternatives.

Final Thoughts

Other day trip options I've considered are Takachiho Gorge (shrines, hiking, kayaking), the Yoshinogani Koen archaeologic park (history), Beppu Hells (hot springs), or  Nanzo-in Temple (Buddhist temple). I'm  having difficulty deciding which. I don't think I'll be able to make it as far as Nagasaki or Kagoshima unfortunately, though I considered both. I have an overnight stay in Hakone set up currently, but am willing to consider other options, including more time in Kyushu.

I would love to hear suggestions on day trips, if Fukuoka is the best base, and if I should consider any big changes.
