My husband and I are going to japan in April, from Australia. We've been once before, about 10 years ago and have visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and a few places in between. Now we're planning to go from Tokyo to Sapporo this time. We've got a two week time period and would like to see smaller, less tourist-y spots while staying on the shinkansen lines if possible, simply for ease of travelling.
Are there any must-see places that you'd recommend on the way to/from Tokyo-Sapporo? Or anything that you recommend us doing?
