Why is Nitori Delivery Time Longer Than…

basically any other furniture store I’ve used outside Japan?

Is it impossible to say order a bed frame and mattress and have it delivered in 5 days?

What do people do that don’t have furniture?

  1. It’ll either depend on how far out there you are, or if the item you want is in stock or not. The table and chair I ordered last year came after a few days, way quicker than anything in Canada. But I did notice that a lot of stuff on the nitori website isn’t actually in stock, so the estimate it’s giving you is when they hope or plan it will get in stock.

I’d recommend Ikea if you have one nearby and really need something, I find the quality is just as good as nitori. I’ve also seen some okay looking stuff on amazon.co.jp, but I’ve never tried furniture from there before.

  2. These are the ripples of the pandemic. Various lockdowns and other disruptions all over the world due to COVID over a period of about 2y have created these supply chain issues. It’s not just Nitori, Ikea and more fancy stores are also affected.

  3. It may be possible in 5 days. Depend on if the product is in stock in your local delivery center or not and how much volume of the delivery+build volume they have.

You might have better luck at the store as long as you are not picky about delivery date and time.

  4. I tried to order a bed from Nitori and it said it takes 2 weeks. I was staying in hotel and I didn’t want to stay longer. I ended up buying from IKEA and it took 3 days. IKEA is far away from my place but Nitori is just 5 minutes walk.

    Edit: Just 2 weeks ago
