Altia Central interviews post-covid

Hi, after looking at the subreddit faq, researching and searching reddit for awhile on different Japan and teaching/ALT related subreddits (and the internet as a whole) I couldn’t really find the answers I was looking for, so I decided to come here. There seems to be far more information on this website pertaining to JET than there is Altia. Feels like a bit of a long shot ever since covid hit and policies have changed, but I am making this post in search of anyone who has applied to Altia ***since the pandemic began*** in hopes I can hear of your experiences both within the interview (primarily formatting) and getting started after being hired.

I understand that until very recently (also due to covid) Altia was only conducting interviews with people already in the country, and so I am not expecting much or any advice on the visa process (which I’ve done before for my prior study abroad anyway) and I suspect that your experience will probably still be different from the Google Meets interview I have in 6 days, but still, here goes:

I was made an Alternate with JET for this year, and while I was happy to not be entirely on the chopping block, I wasn’t all that satisfied with essentially being told that my JET prospects were still in limbo for 2022 from now until December. So I went to Altia, and at the earliest possible time submitted my documentation. And I got an interview very quickly, within just a few days!

However, after doing some poking around the internet in search of how best to prepare, and how to do better than I did with the JET interview, I noticed that the given interview experiences seemed vastly different from what relatively little was described in my emails from Altia Recruitment (which is again obviously due to covid and somewhat expected) so I’m still left wondering how to go about preparing. Older posts online have talked about having a “1st interview” and “2nd interview”, creating a lesson plan from a prompt in advance/bringing proper documentation to the interview (which prior to covid was always face to face) but I have not heard about anything I should “bring” to my online interview. Is this not a thing anymore, or is it something that may come after?

I’m just trying to not psyche myself out, because I really, REALLY want to get back in line with the prospects I had before the pandemic hit which forced me out of Japan and back to the US, so any advice one can give on the interview process from the perspective of the interviewee as it pertains to more recent months would be much appreciated. Thank you.
