We are going to Japan next November with my girlfriend (firstimer, thank you for all the advice we have found on this sub) and we would like your opinion on part of this itinerary:
The idea would be to rent a car from Tokyo to Shizuoka and then take the shinkansen to Kyoto:
Day 1:
Car pick-up in Ueno + Lake Kawaguchi + Chureito pagoda + Asama sanctuary
Overnight in Gotemba
Day 2:
Owakudani Valley + Tori Hakone
Overnight at Yoshiike Ryokan in Yumoto
Day 3:
Aokigahara forest (1h) + Shiraito waterfall + Miho beach
Car drop-off and overnight in Shizuoka
We feel that renting a car is the most efficient way to visit all these places, but we have our doubts: is it a good idea or a bad one?
More info : We are from France and my drivers licence has already been translate
