I accidentally dropped a ¥10000 bill at a museum today and when I came to the reception to ask about it (I hadn’t even left the building) they told me they had found it but because it wasn’t in a wallet with a name/ID they couldn’t give it back and that I had to go to the police box. I went to the police but he told me that there was nothing they could do because it didn’t have my name on it so they couldn’t verify whose money it was. I asked about checking the CCTV but they told me they couldn’t do it because of the people’s privacy (what’s the point then?????) and he wouldn’t even take my details or anything to file a report.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there anything else I can do?
